Usage

• Pre-washed: Ready to use, though additional rinsing is recommended to ensure cleanliness.
• Riverbed Placement: Spread the substrate evenly along the bottom of your empty tank or terrarium. Pour the substrate gently from a low height to avoid scratching the aquarium glass.
• Standalone or Mixed: Use on its own for a tranquil, cool-toned base, or combine it with other WIO sands and gravels for a custom substrate look.
• Decorate & Plant: Arrange rocks, driftwood, and plants to achieve a serene, natural-inspired scape.
• Filling the Tank: Pour water carefully, avoiding direct flow onto the substrate.
• Pro Tip: Pour water over a plate or décor to minimize disturbance.

• Easy maintenance: Regularly, for example, with every water change, gently vacuum clean the substrate to remove any accumulated debris or algae.
• Water parameters: This Riverbed will raise pH and kH (carbonate hardness). This is ideal for recreating the hardwater habitats of Rift Lake cichlids. However, if you need to maintain specific water parameters for other species, monitor your levels regularly and consider using RO (reverse osmosis) water or deionized water for your regular water changes to counteract the slight rise. You can also use a buffering substrate or additives to help control water parameters.
